Whiteboard girl prank fools hundreds of thousands on the Internet

Through a series of photographs, a woman supposedly quits her job through exposing her bad boss. However, Internet detectives soon started investigated and the owners of the hosting site have admitted that the whole thing was set up and fake. The images displayed messages written on a whiteboard to her former boss, such as “you breath smells” and that he demotivated staff, spent hours playing video games, sapped staff morale.

The pictures rapidly went viral; it was an instant hit, especially on Facebook, where it received over 360,000 “likes”.

However, site viewers were reminded that the site where the images were hosted was the same site that fabricated the story of Donald Trump leaving a $10,000 tip on an $82 bill (among other false stories). This story was proved to be untrue by the LA times. Therefore there were many questions posed about the legitimacy of the photographs, and other websites did some digging into the story.

It was revealed that the woman, ”Jenny” was actually a model who had responded to an advert posted on-line by one of the co-owners for a “girl next door model type”.
